The demonstration plant is co-constructed by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan Optical Valley Blue-fire New Energy Co. Ltd. It locates in Erzhou, Hubei Province. It is about one hour driving from Wuhan city. The high-value added comprehensive utilization of biomass-based pyrolytic polygeneration system adopts moving bed as the reactor, and integrates several technologies, such as in-situ activation of chars, ex-situ catalytic upgrading and fractional collection of bio-oil, purification and ex-situ separation of gaseous products. The target products can be precisely controlled and the products quality can be effectively guaranteed. For straw as an example, the yield of solid char is above 35% with a heating value above 25MJ/kg; the yield of fuel gas is above 25% and its heating value is above 12MJ/m3; the yield of bio-oil is above 30% and the oil is stable and enriched of furans and phenols. These solid char can be used as solid fuel, bio-char in agriculture and activated chars, while the gaseous products can be used as fuel gas for heating or electricity generation. The bio-oil has a good utilization potential as feedstock of refinery factory.
